Brea Man Dies Day After Crash
A 75-year-old Brea man died early Sunday morning as a result of head injuries he received in a traffic accident, authorities said.
Donald Henry Wolking was injured when a sport-utility vehicle he was driving was broadsided by another in front of the Twin Palms Motel on Brea Boulevard about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Brea police said.
Both vehicles were 1998 Ford Explorers, police said.
The accident occurred when La Habra resident Asalia Josefina Reyes, 49, tried to turn into the motel’s parking lot. Her vehicle smashed into the driver’s side of Wolking’s, which rolled over, police said.
Wolking and his wife, Martha Jane Wolking, 73, were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange. Martha Jane Wolking was treated Saturday for a cut on her arm.
Reyes was not injured in the collision. She was not cited.
Brea police are still investigating the accident.
