Flight Links Three Indochinese Capitals
HANOI — A new Vietnam Airlines service links the three capitals of Indochina for the first time with a single flight. The service should prove a boon to tourists who previously had to change planes and sometimes stay overnight to make connections in order to visit Hanoi, Vietnam; Vientiane, Laos; and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on the same itinerary.
Vietnam’s Flight No. 841 leaves Hanoi at 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Fokker 70 jet arrives in Vientiane at 12:40 p.m. and in Phnom Penh at 3:20 p.m. Flight No. 840 flies the same route in reverse order the same days. Stopovers are permitted.
Vietnam Airlines has no office in the U.S., but Minh Travel & Tours Inc. in San Gabriel, tel. (626) 281-1088, sells tickets for it. The one-way fare is about $190 if bought locally; Minh charges about $250. The phone for the airline in Hanoi is 011-84-4-832-0320.
