A Seal Beach woman was killed Monday when her car slammed into a light pole, police said.
Martha Nel Edwards, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Edwards, who was driving alone in her 1995 Honda Civic, rammed a pole on Warner Avenue at Algonquin Street in Huntington Beach at about 2:15 a.m. Police said she was driving within the speed limit at about 45 mph on the curving street.
The single-car accident did not appear to be alcohol-related, police said. The coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy today.
