Neutral Peace Broker
The U.S. obviously cannot and should not broker a settlement in the Middle East. We are known to be pro-Israel and the Arabs do not trust us. The proof is that the Mitchell recommendations have not been implemented; the U.N. has been rendered impotent to send troops to keep the factions separated because Israel does not want U.N. troops. Terrorism is the weapon of those who have no air force, tanks and navy to wage war against a powerful opponent.
Perhaps a neutral state such as Sweden or China should mediate this ugly feud.
