Deal of the Week: Driving in Britain
Longtime British Isles specialist CIE Tours International is offering a weeklong self-drive vacation in Britain starting at $882 per person, double occupancy. The downside is that the package is good for travel Jan. 12 to March 31, not exactly a balmy time in Britain. The upside is that the price is right: It includes nonstop round-trip air fare between Los Angeles and London on British Airways; rental of a manual-shift economy car, including insurance; seven nights’ lodging at bed-and-breakfast inns; daily breakfast; and government taxes. It does not include airport taxes, about $95 per person, or collision damage waiver insurance, $35 per person for the week. Add $20 per flight for travel either way on Friday or Saturday. The package provides vouchers good at more than 1,700 B&Bs; in England, Scotland and Wales that you book along the way; CIE will book your first night. The deal is subject to availability. The company’s U.S. office is in Cedar Knolls, N.J. (800) 243-8687, www.cietours.com.
