Japan, EU Agree to Work Closer in Terror War

BRUSSELS — Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi agreed Saturday to increase cooperation between his country’s law enforcement agencies and European police to fortify the global fight against terrorism.
The agreement was part of a wide-ranging “action plan” that outlined closer ties between Japan and the European Union at a meeting between Koizumi and EU leaders.
Under the agreement, Japanese police will develop closer collaboration with the European police agency Europol.
