1 of 3 Library Branches to Close for Renovations
From Times Staff Reports
The Taft branch, one of the city’s three public libraries, will close Jan. 2 for major renovations that will reconfigure the layout while adding a public meeting room and lounge, and improving the building’s computer setup.
City officials expect the Taft branch, at 740 E. Taft Ave., to reopen by early summer. Meantime, patrons can use the Main Library, 101 N. Center St., or the El Modena branch, 380 S. Hewes Ave.
Materials checked out of Taft before it closes can be returned to the other branches.
