Canyons 35, Saddleback 32--Joey LaPorte returned a fumble 73 yards to give the Cougars (11-1) the victory at home in the Western State Bowl.
The teams combined for 39 points in the fourth quarter and four touchdowns in the final 3:26.
Jason Whieldon, who completed 28 of 45 passes for 433 yards and three touchdowns, hit Billy Cobb on a 57-yard scoring pass play with 11 seconds for the final score.
Canyons’ Kyle Bauer completed 18 of 31 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns, including a 57-yarder to Leon Pinkey. The Cougars also scored on an option pass from tight end Mike Gomez to Chris Chestnut that covered 45 yards.

Pasadena 38, Grossmont 17--Jonathan Smith rushed for 247 yards and two touchdowns in 37 carries and had a reception for another score to lead Pasadena (10-1) to the South County Bowl victory over Grossmont (9-2).
