Fisher’s Four Goals Spark Villa Park in Water Polo
Charlie Fisher scored four goals to help Villa Park to a 12-6 victory over Riverside Arlington Thursday at the Villa Park boys’ water polo tournament.
The Spartans (8-2), ranked second in the county, defeated Costa Mesa, 14-2, in the first round.
In Sunset League boys’ cross-country:
No. 3 Edison 27, No. 7 Fountain Valley 28--Scott Brandos ran 15 minutes 23 seconds on Fountain Valley’s three-mile course to finish first for Edison.
In nonleague girls’ volleyball:
No. 5 Irvine 3, Esperanza 2--Olivia Waldowski had 24 kills for host Irvine (5-1), which won, 14-16, 11-15, 15-13, 15-6, 15-13.
