Steve Stagnaro passed for 148 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Wildcats at Brea.
Brea Olinda (3-1) started fast by recovering a blocked punt by Mike Chu in the first quarter at the Katella 27. The Wildcats scored three plays later on Manny Gutierrez’s 15-yard run to take a 7-0 lead. Gutierrez rushed for 79 yards and scored two touchdowns.
After taking over at midfield to begin their second offensive drive, Brea Olinda marched to the 29-yard line and Stagnaro passed to Evan Moore for a touchdown and a 14-0 lead.
Katella (1-3) struck back, driving 80 yards in 13 plays, capped by Ruben Torres’ two-yard run. That made the score 14-6, but it was the closest Katella would get.
