Canyon 20, Highland 13--Colin MacNeil scored on a two-yard run with 4:08 to play, completing a second-half comeback by the Cowboys (3-1) at Canyon.
Robert Hendricks set up the score by recovering a fumble by Highland quarterback Matt Yriarte at the Bulldog two-yard line. MacNeil scored on the next play.
MacNeil finished with 97 yards in 23 carries, including a one-yard touchdown that capped a 14-play, 93-yard drive in the third quarter. He also had 10 tackles and a sack playing linebacker, giving him 27 tackles in the last two games.
The Cowboys tied the score, 13-13, in the fourth quarter when defensive back Ryan Sullivan returned a fumble by running back Mike McCoy 72 yards for a touchdown.
Following a 15-yard penalty for excessive celebration, Canyon’s Cam Robinson missed the 35-yard extra-point attempt.
Highland (1-3) took a 13-0 halftime lead on touchdown runs of 50 and one yard by Josh Mejia, who finished with 118 yards in 16 carries.
Canyon Coach Jack Bowman was ejected for arguing with officials with 2:34 to play.
