Nominations for the Cypress Family of the Year award will be accepted through Oct. 20.
Applications are available through the city’s Recreation and Parks District office, 5700 Orange Ave., and the Cypress branch library at 5331 Orange Ave.
Elementary school children may also enter a poster contest, and junior high students may enter a writing contest, using the theme “What My Family Means to Me.”
The city began awarding a Family of the Year title 10 years ago to acknowledge positive contributions families make to the community.
The winning family will be given a city proclamation at the Nov. 13 City Council meeting. Information: (714) 229-6780.
