Titans Booted From Top 25
Cal State Fullerton dropped out of the top 25 and UC Irvine, which took top-ranked UCLA into sudden death last week, remained unranked in the National Soccer Coaches Assn. poll for men.
The Titans (6-2) were ranked sixth last week but lost to Portland and Washington last weekend in the Husky Classic at Washington. Irvine (6-2) lost, 2-1, to UCLA (6-0) and beat Gonzaga, 1-0.
Fullerton is ranked 20th by Soccer America Magazine and plays Furman Friday and Clemson Sunday in a tournament at Clemson.
Irvine visits Loyola Marymount Friday and hosts Centenary College of Shreveport, La., Sunday. Both games are at 1 p.m.
FOOTBALL
Tickets for Friday’s nonleague game between No. 1 Mater Dei and No. 3 Edison at Orange Coast College are being sold at each school through Friday. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for children. Tickets will also be sold Friday at Orange Coast College. Parking is free. Game time is 7 p.m.
