Fulbright Scholar Heading to Manila
Cal State Fullerton alumnus Alvin Gregorio was named a Fulbright Scholar for his research on the Philippines, the university announced last week.
A resident of Yorba Linda, Gregorio is Filipino American. He plans to travel this month to Manila, where he will live for about a year, studying the country’s history and culture through its paintings and poems. He incorporates many themes from his heritage into his paintings.
Gregorio earned a bachelor of fine arts from Cal State Fullerton and a master’s degree in fine arts at Claremont Graduate University.
Gregorio’s work has been shown in Orange County and Los Angeles.
