Cal State Fullerton has been reaccredited for 10 years by the Western Assn. of Schools and Colleges. The action was announced Tuesday after a five-day stay on the campus in March by a 12-member evaluation team.
“The commission commends the university,” Ralph A. Wolff, the association’s executive director, said in a letter announcing the decision. “Since the last comprehensive review of the university, there has been tremendous growth.”
“The university is delighted with the process and the outcome,” said Ephraim P. Smith, vice president of academic affairs.
State law requires institutions of higher education to be accredited periodically. Cal State Fullerton was last accredited in 1991, for eight years.
