Flint Will Coach at Woodbridge
Bob Flint, baseball coach at Irvine High for the last 21 seasons, has been hired to coach at Woodbridge High, Warrior Athletic Director Alan Dugard said Monday.
Flint, who retired from his position at Irvine after last season, replaces Dave Madrid, who was 56-46-1 in four years at Woodbridge but was not rehired after the 2000 season.
Flint has a 361-231 career record with eight Sea View League titles. He took Irvine to the Southern Section 4-A championship game in 1992.
WATER POLO
Matt Campbell has been named the boys’ water polo coach at Woodbridge, according to Dugard. Campbell, a counselor for six years at the school, played water polo at UC Irvine. He takes over the program that was recently reinstated for the 2000 season.
