SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
County agencies and nonprofit organizations met last week with about 15 homeless people who live in camps on city-owned land known as the Lower Rosan Ranch.
Rescue Mission of Tustin and Catholic Charities of Santa Ana passed out blankets and clothing. Agencies also passed out information on housing, employment and mental health contacts in the county.
The 13-acre property, north of Stonehill Drive and west of Camino Capistrano, is scheduled for redevelopment. Home Depot, a home improvement retailer, has offered to buy the site for an estimated $9 million.
