3-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Backyard Pool
A Labor Day family gathering in Palmdale turned to tragedy when a 3-year-old boy wandered into a backyard pool and drowned.
The boy, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was at a get-together at a house in the 3100 block of East Avenue R-14, said Sgt. Mike Graham of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale station. “Apparently he slipped out when they weren’t looking, then they found him in the pool,” Graham said.
Authorities did not know whether the boy had been living at the house.
The boy was not breathing when paramedics arrived, Graham said. He was pronounced dead at Antelope Valley Hospital at 7:19 p.m.
