The current Tattoo the Earth Festival, combining barbed-edged rock and body art, is yielding a live album. Due Oct. 24 from 1500 Records, the album, “Tattoo the Earth: The First Crusade,” will include performances by Slipknot, Sevendust, Hatebreed, Mudvayne, (hed) p.e. and Nashville Pussy. . . .

The songs of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are the subject of a tribute album being recorded by Los Angeles singer Kat Kramer, daughter of movie director Stanley Kramer. But rather than record the obvious, over-familiar material, Kramer is focusing on underappreciated items from the Rolling Stones catalog and Jagger’s and Richards’ solo albums. Jimmy Rip, who was co-writer and musical director on Jagger’s 1993 “Wandering Spirit” album, is producing, and Billy Preston and Bernard Fowler, who have both recorded and toured with the Stones, will make appearances. . . .

Peter Frampton’s 1975 “Frampton Comes Alive,” one of the ‘70s biggest-selling (and most-mocked) albums, is being reissued Nov. 21 in a “special edition” two-CD set, with three or four extra songs and expanded packaging featuring essays and photos.
