Fast Eddie Is Reseda’s Pride
Joel Schaeffer has seen ‘em come and go during 23 seasons as coach at Reseda High.
Seldom has he been as smitten with a player as he is with tailback Eddie Robinson.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever met a nicer kid on the football field,” Schaeffer said. “What a joy it is to be out there with this kid. You get so many prima donnas these days. He’s old school. There’s no hot-dogging. He just gets the job done and shows class.”
Schaeffer particularly enjoys watching Robinson run with the ball. The senior rushed for 1,397 yards and scored 22 touchdowns last season.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do,” Schaeffer said. “He’s bigger and stronger. He’s blocking particularly well, too.
“He wants to go to a Pac-10 school. He’s getting as many [recruiting] letters as any kid I’ve had.”
