District to Discuss Proposed School
SUN VALLEY — The Los Angeles Unified School District will hold a community meeting tonight to talk about a proposed high school at an office building site owned by the Department of Water and Power.
The Anthony office building across the street from Polytechnic High School is one of five proposed high school locations in the San Fernando Valley and 15 districtwide.
In seven years, schools in the Valley will be short 10,000 seats, district officials said.
Tonight’s meeting is intended to inform community members about the construction of desperately needed new schools, and a team of school district officials, including the project manager and the facilities executive, will explain the proposed project.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Polytechnic High School auditorium, 12431 Roscoe Blvd.
For more information, call Vincent Maffei with the district’s community outreach branch at (323) 931-5501, Ext. 200.
