So, the Los Angeles Dodgers “adamantly oppose” the LAUSD plans to buy two parking lots next door (Oct. 22)? Wait a minute. The O’Malley family came into Los Angeles and was given that land almost for free in the first place. I can’t believe the Dodgers would object to anyone who wants to actually buy land up there. The Dodger organization kicked off the families who had been there long before it arrived from Brooklyn. Let it not go unsaid that many of those families were Latino and/or immigrants. Is it simply ironic that the current Dodger owner is also an immigrant himself?
Come on, Dodgers, just because you can’t win some ballgames, don’t take your frustration out on LAUSD because it is trying to do something for kids who just want an opportunity to learn.
