Truck Spills Load, Shutting Freeway
THOUSAND OAKS — A large truck hauling rocks and hunks of concrete overturned on the Ventura Freeway on Saturday afternoon, forcing the closure of all southbound lanes for about an hour, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 2:15 p.m. just south of Ventu Park Road. The driver, who was not identified, lost control of the truck and it flipped, but he was not injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The truck spilled its load across the freeway, blocking all lanes, authorities said. Two of the four lanes remained closed until nearly 5 p.m. while the debris was cleaned up.
