The Irvine provider of information systems reported third-quarter net income of $1.1 million, or 10 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $7.5 million, or 68 cents a share, for the like period of 1999. Revenue declined 14% to $9.8 million.
The company also said it has settled litigation with Getronics Corp., a computer-services firm. MAI said it agreed to pay Getronics $1.1 million over 24 months for services Getronics provided under a December 1996 agreement. Getronics had been seeking more than $3.6 million, MAI Systems said.
The settlement amount had been accounted for in previous quarters and did not have an impact on third-quarter results, the company said.
