Protesting Truckers Obstruct Roads

Striking truckers in Chile obstructed roads throughout the 2,700-mile-long South American country for a second day amid concern about possible food and fuel shortages. Leaders of the National Confederation of Truck Owners said more than 7,500 vehicles were being used to protest a tax on diesel fuel. Witnesses said drivers on the outskirts of the capital, Santiago, were allowing traffic to flow only in one lane in each direction.
