Bush Tax Plan
As a retired attorney and certified public accountant, I practiced in the field of income tax law for almost 50 years and have some familiarity with the Internal Revenue Code and some of the unfair and inequitable provisions contained in the code. However, I don’t think one needs to be a tax-expert maven to observe that not everyone needs or should receive an income tax cut or a tax refund, as is proposed by George W. Bush in his touted across-the-board tax cut for every taxpayer.
Do high-earning movie stars, sports stars, top-level corporate executives, etc. need income tax relief? The proposal does not meet the test of plain common sense.
