Resources for LAPD

The scandals plaguing the Los Angeles Police Department are not without cause. The department is understaffed and underequipped. The scandalous activities that were exposed are a result of this condition, often occurring when an end is striven to be achieved without providing adequate means to accomplish it. The department has been given responsibility without commensurate resources or authority.

When judging the actions of the LAPD, we should recall that it’s only those on the side of the law who are expected to “play by the rules.” If we really want to “take a bite out of crime,” we need to first review our priorities and then apply the necessary resources.
