Sheriff’s deputies checking on a possible parole violation noticed smoke rising from a Palmdale home and stumbled upon a methamphetamine lab, authorities said.
They summoned firefighters, who arrived shortly after 1 p.m. at a house in the 9800 block of East Avenue Q-4.
After firefighters cleared the area, a hazardous materials team began sifting through the makeshift lab, said Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Mike Brown.
Sheriff’s deputies said four people were arrested on suspicion of drug possession and manufacturing. Their names were not immediately available.
Authorities said they also confiscated chemicals and equipment used to manufacture the illegal drug.
