SEASON AT A GLANCE: Pedersen, the Ventura County champion as a sophomore, has won three of five races and would have won a fourth had she not stopped to tie a shoe during the Atascadero Invitational on Sept. 30.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Pedersen won a Marmonte League meet against Thousand Oaks and Moorpark to lead the Highlanders to a pair of victories that tied them for first place with Agoura. It was Royal’s first victory over Thousand Oaks. “After the race, three people told us that we beat them,” Pedersen said. “But we didn’t believe it until we checked with the people who compile the official results.”
