GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS
* The Rockwell Science Center in Thousand Oaks has received a four-year, $5-million contract from the Department of Defense to prepare for a domestic manufacturing capability to make thin film coatings for laser protective eye wear worn in the military. Money for Rockwell’s contract comes through the Defense Production Act, which was created to make sure there are U.S.-based makers of key defense items.
* Parker Hannifin Corp. of Newbury Park won a $211,954 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, for pipe, tubing, hose and fittings.
