Despite mild protest from some neighbors, the City Council has approved a special permit for a home off Mesa Drive to be built to the maximum allowable height of 32 feet.
Residents who live on the hill above the proposed 6,400-square-foot house said that such a height would obstruct their view, thereby lowering the homes’ property value by $100,000 or more. The council voted unanimously to approve the building plans.
A permit is required when a home’s height exceeds 25 feet.
