Applicants Sought to Replace Daucher
City officials will hold an open application period for residents interested in replacing Councilwoman Lynn Daucher, who resigned after winning a seat in the California Assembly. Applications for the seat will be accepted until Dec. 13.
City officials had considered holding a special election to fill the seat but decided against it because they would have had to wait until June 5 to put it to a vote.
After reviewing the applications and conducting interviews, the council will name Daucher’s replacement. The appointment could be made as early as Dec. 19 or as late as Jan. 2.
Applications are available in the city clerk’s office, 1 Civic Center Circle. Information: (714) 990-7600.
