Mission Viejo (9-2) vs. Chino (10-1)
7:30 TONIGHT CHINO HIGH
Chino Coach John Monger has taken the Cowboys to the playoffs 10 of the last 11 years. In 1997, the Cowboys won the Division IV title. In 1998, they lost to Diamond Bar in the final. If it were up to Monger, Chino would have stayed in Division IV and not faced the likes of Mission Viejo. “They’ve got a thousand more students than we do,” Monger said. “In 1994, we were a Division VI team. We have to play a complete game to beat them.” Both teams specialize in a ball-control offense, but Mission Viejo has more big-play capability.
