Gunman Steals $100,000 From Worker Servicing ATM
RESEDA — In a bold robbery, a gunman stole about $100,000 from a bank worker servicing an automatic teller machine, police said.
The robber struck shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday at a Bank of America ATM in the 17600 block of Saticoy Street, said Lt. Al Dravidzius of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division.
The bank employee was not hurt.
No arrests had been made Thursday night.
Dravidzius said he did not know whether the robbery had been caught on videotape, but he said police were investigating whether the gunman had staked out the spot ahead of time, perhaps hoping to catch bank personnel off guard on Thanksgiving.
“The robbers, they don’t take holidays,” he said.
