MISSION VIEJO
Viejo Elementary School has applied for a three-year, $1.2-million grant from the Orange County Children and Families Commission to provide low-income families with access to after-school and enrichment programs.
The money will fund a joint project between Viejo Elementary and After-School Child Care and Family Enrichment Center, a nonprofit organization in Mission Viejo.
The grant money will come from the pool of state funds created by the tobacco tax.
