* AIR FORCE (1-1) AT LONG BEACH STATE (0-1), 7:30--With two big men slow in returning to form, Coach Wayne Morgan said there would be some initial struggles defensively. The defense was virtually nonexistent in a 101-89 season-opening loss to Southern Illinois. Long Beach allowed the Salukis to shoot 58.5% from the field and let their starting front line make 21 of 25 shots. 49er guard Ramel Lloyd scored 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting and the point guard tandem of Ron Johnson and Michael Darrett combined for 29 points and six assists. Center Travis Reed has 13 points and 10 rebounds in his first 49er game. Senior Rudy Williams, coming back from surgery on his shins, had six points and four rebounds but looked rusty in 19 minutes, Air Force, led by new Coach Joe Scott, beat Houston in its opener but lost to Wake Forest by 40.
