State Cross-Country Finals Set

Seven girls’ teams from the county and three boys’ teams were awarded at-large berths in Saturday’s state cross-country finals at Woodward Park in Fresno.
The Esperanza and Fountain Valley girls’ teams met their Division I at-large standards at the Southern Section finals Saturday and were among six teams in that division that were given berths. Five of those teams were from the Southern Section.
Santa Ana and Edison were among six Division I boys’ teams awarded berths. Five of those six teams were also from the Southern Section.
Newport Harbor, Brea Olinda, Mater Dei and Santa Margarita were among 10 girls’ teams in Division II to earn at-large berths. Six of those were from the Southern Section.
The Valencia boys’ team was one of six teams to earn at-large berths in Division II.
St. Margaret’s also earned an at-large berth in Division V.
