The second annual International Jewish Film Festival, which runs Thursday through Nov. 21 at the Music Hall, opens today with a special screening of “The Frisco Kid” at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Gene Wilder, star of the film, will be honored for both his career and his support of humanitarian causes. The award will be presented by the festival chairman, director Arthur Hiller, and last year’s recipient, Gregory Peck.
In addition to screenings there will be a filmmakers’ conference Thursday at the Peninsula Beverly Hills from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (818) 786-4000.
