VENTURA — A 28-year-old Ventura man was in a serious but stable condition Sunday night at a local hospital after being shot a day earlier on the city’s east side, authorities said.
Justin Miller was walking in the 11000 block of Citrus Drive when he was shot once in the right side about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Ventura police said.
Witnesses said a dark-colored car drove away about the same time, police said. A passing motorist found Miller slumped on a sidewalk and called authorities.
Miller was in the intensive care unit at Ventura County Medical Center. Authorities had no further details but said Miller, who is not a gang member, may have been walking through gang territory.
