Highland 27, Quartz Hill 0--Josh Mejia rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown in 16 carries and the Bulldog defense allowed only five first downs at Quartz Hill.
Mejia’s 35-yard touchdown run up the middle gave Highland (3-6, 1-3) a 13-0 lead with 1:19 remaining in the first half. Greg Root scored the Bulldogs’ first touchdown on a one-yard run.
Mike McCoy added third-quarter touchdown runs of nine and seven yards to put the game away. McCoy finished with 76 yards in 11 carries.
Highland sacked Quartz Hill quarterback Josh Fricke five times. The Rebels (2-7, 1-3), limited to 99 yards, were forced to punt nine times.
