Department of bizarre statistics:

* Cleveland is 6-2 despite being outscored, 275-200. One of the victories was by forfeit.

* Seventeen Verdugo Hills players have receptions, although the Dons have completed only 52 passes. Kyle Mugavero leads the team with nine catches and seven players have one catch.

* Unbeaten Birmingham has rushed and passed for the same number of yards: 1,518.

Steve Henson

Steve Henson is a breaking news and enterprise reporter at the Los Angeles Times. He previously served as an editor and reporter in the Sports department.
