The pipelines that will carry water under Bonita Canyon and Culver drives are being laid as the infrastructure for the new Shady Canyon and Turtle Ridge communities begins to take form.

The Irvine Ranch Water District broke ground last week for the first phase of the pipeline work, which should be completed by December.

The work is taking place more than a mile from the site of the future upscale village of Turtle Ridge. Irvine Co. officials plan to begin construction on both communities early this summer.

Turtle Rock residents have asked to be placed on an e-mail list to find out more about the daily work involved in the villages’ construction.
