Kelly, Hornets Beat Cypress

Erin Kelly pitched a one-hitter as Fullerton defeated Cypress, 3-0, in an Orange Empire Conference softball game Monday at Cypress.
Lisa Schiro had two hits and an RBI and Kelly improved to 20-2 for the Hornets (29-4, 11-1).
The loss prevented Cypress Coach Brad Pickler from getting his 600th win at the school. Pickler’s next chance will be Wednesday when the Chargers (18-5-1, 10-3) host Golden West.
In another conference game:
Saddleback 11, Orange Coast 3 (5, mercy)--Nicole Brunk gave Saddleback a 4-3 lead with an RBI single in the third and the Gauchos (14-10-1, 7-5) scored six runs on four errors in the fifth. Orange Coast is 14-18, 3-9.
