Golden West Cruises Past L.A. City, 11-5

Ty Harper, Miguel Mendoza and Ryan Rocheleau drove in two runs each as Golden West defeated Los Angeles City, 11-5, in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at Golden West College.
Todd Gelatka struck out 10 in six innings and got the win for Golden West (14-9).
In the Orange Empire Conference:
Orange Coast 21, Fullerton 8--Orange Coast pounded Fullerton with a nine-run seventh inning. Jason Reuss had two home runs and eight RBIs.
Riverside 11, Cypress 6--Riverside scored eight runs in the first two innings to take the early lead. Jim Franz had two hits, including a home run, and four runs batted in for the Tigers (19-4, 7-4).
Kevin Snapp had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs for Cypress (18-4, 5-4).
Riverside’s Rick Sander pitched 5 2/3 innings, striking out five. The Tigers scored six runs in the first inning.
