Eco Soil Systems Inc.’s president and chief financial officer have resigned after shares of the San Diego-based seller of fertilizer and irrigation products for farms and golf courses dropped 41% in the last year. President Douglas Gloff will be replaced by Max Gelwix, vice president of marketing, effective March 31. Chief Financial Officer Mark Buckner will be replaced by Dennis Sentz, vice president of accounting and controller, the company said. The changes precede the sale of the company’s Turf Partners unit to closely held J.R. Simplot Co., which was announced last month as part of a cost-cutting plan. William Adams will remain chairman and chief executive. Eco Soil, which had sales of $82.4 million in 1998, last month said it expected a fourth-quarter loss of more than $11 million, or 61 cents a share, compared with a loss of 73 cents a share a year earlier. Its shares rose 13 cents to close at $3.81 on Nasdaq.
