Ohye Leads Calabasas With 72
Senior Justin Ohye of Calabasas High shot par 72 to lead the Coyotes to a 387-445 victory over Newbury Park in a nonleague boys’ golf match at Calabasas Country Club on Tuesday.
Ohye, who has committed to UC Irvine, had four birdies and two double bogeys.
He birdied the par-five fourth hole, the par-four fifth and 13th, and the par-three 14th. His double bogeys came on the par-four first hole and the par-three seventh.
Freshmen Jared Tarlow and Adam Albrecht each shot a 78 for Calabasas (2-0) and senior Peter Heilbron had a 79.
Nordhoff 392, Hart 393--Devlin Thomas made 16 pars and finished with a two-over-par 74 as Nordhoff (1-2) edged Hart (3-2) in a nonleague match at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai.
Tommy Hajduk birdied the third hole on the front side and finished with 14 pars en route to a three-over-par 75 for Nordhoff.
Brian Edick shot a one-over-par 73, with two birdies and one bogey on the front nine.
St. Francis 203, Alemany 206--Sophomore Jonathan Feuerhelm of Alemany shot a one-over par 34 in a Mission League match at Chevy Chase Country Club.
Chaminade 200, Alhambra 231--Brian Campbell fired par 36 in a nonleague match at Alhambra Golf Course for Chaminade (1-3).
Crescenta Valley 203, La Canada 206--Brandon Shin had an eagle on the par-four eighth hole and a birdie on the par-five fifth hole, but bogeyed the par-four first and the par-five ninth holes to finish with a one-under 35 for La Canada (1-5) in a nonleague match at Altadena Golf Course.
BOYS’ TENNIS
Simi Valley 16, Oxnard 2--J.P. Agustin and Rudy Barajas remained undefeated for host Simi Valley (3-1), losing only two games at No. 1 doubles in a nonleague match.
Chaminade 11, Royal 7--The Eagles won eight of nine singles sets in a nonleague match at Rancho Simi Park in Simi Valley.
Billy Hoang lost just two games in three sets for Chaminade (1-1).
Westlake 15, San Marino 3--Jack Sayner swept at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-2, 6-4, for Westlake (1-0) in a nonleague match at San Marino.
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Chaminade d. Camarillo, 15-6, 15-1, 15-13--Adam Hickerson had a .500 hitting percentage, with 15 kills and five errors in 20 attempts for host Chaminade (1-0) in a nonleague match.
