Mike Leclerc, a Mighty Duck left wing, accepted the team’s one-season qualifying offer Thursday, leaving General Manager Pierre Gauthier with three free agents still to re-sign before the opening of training camp Sept. 7.
Leclerc was the third Duck to accept a qualifying offer this week, joining left wing Marty McInnis and minor-league center Marc Chouinard. Leclerc had eight goals and 19 points in 69 games last season.
Center Matt Cullen, goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere and defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky are the three remaining unsigned Ducks. Center Antti Aalto, right wing Ladislav Kohn and defenseman Patrick Traverse have filed for arbitration and their cases will be resolved early next month.
Meanwhile, Gauthier and Tverdovsky’s agent, Don Meehan, are expected to meet soon in Toronto to discuss a new deal.
