Architects hired by the city to redesign Old Town Yorba Linda said they were pleasantly surprised by the interest community members are showing in the project.
About 50 people came to a public meeting at the Community Center on Tuesday night, architect David Denton said.
Thirty of them volunteered to be on the steering committee for the project, he added.
The consultants will work with city officials to reduce the number of people to be selected for the steering committee to make the group manageable, Denton said.
