PremEARS groups--The bands Hoku and BBMak will perform at the Disney Channel PremEARS in the Park event at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Sunday. A Best Bet in Thursday’s Calendar Weekend incorrectly reported that the band M2M would appear.

Reuters news service recently carried a poll in which American adults--yes, the grown-ups--named Britney Spears their favorite teen pop girl singer by almost a 2-1 margin over second-place finisher Christina Aguilera. For what it’s worth, more than a quarter of those polled--and more than the percentage that voted for Spears--said they didn’t like any of the crop of young singers. No doubt the latter group will be skipping Britney’s concert Saturday in Irvine--unless they have persuasive kids in the house who vote otherwise.
