Thank you for the interesting story on Ross Macdonald (“Digging for Lew Archer,” by Tom Nolan, June 18). He is a true master of the mystery genre whose work remains fresh, compelling and challenging. Lew Archer is a complex character who can stand head to head with today’s best. Macdonald’s books are a must-read for any mystery fan.
